The Rune Poem - Verse IX

it sweeps from heaven,
whirled in showers
and in to water it is turned.

Introduction:

Hagalaz represents the primal forces of nature and their awesome destructive power. The Vikings experienced frequent and severe weather, and would have had to suffer the set backs that these elements would bring.

Interpretation:

Upright.
A situation out of control. Guard against outside interference in your affairs. Learning to accept that some things may be out of your hands.

Prepare yourself to weather the storm, take what you can from the experience as there is always something to learn. Prepare to enjoy the great relief and release when the storm subsides.

Inverted.

This symbol cannot be inverted.
