WYRD - Fate

The Blank Rune was introduced (11th Century) long after the Rune Poem
was written, therefore it has no verse.

Fate

Introduction:

Wyrd is known as the blank rune and it carries no symbol. As a later addition to the set it does not feature in the original Germanic futhark, however it is a common addition to 'modern' sets. This rune is concerned almost exclusively with destiny or fate.

Interpretation:

Upright.
Like the Death card in a Tarot set, Wyrd symbolises the death of a certain situation or cycle of ones life and tends to be symbolic in this respect rather than literal. It also signifies that fate or destiny are taking control of ones life.

Inverted.
This symbol cannot be inverted.
