The formations that arrived this summer were amongst the most amazing so far – my how we’re blessed! As always they’re endlessly fascinating, but this time around they’ve made a quantum leap in complexity. It’s hard to imagine anything more spectacular than what’s arrived already, yet still they continue to confound and astonish. The first major event of the year arrived at Firs Farm nr. Beckhampton in Wiltshire on the 5 th of June. Etched quite precisely in barley, it was approx. 270ft wide and over 900ft long.
Vertically the formation is somewhat reminiscent of two intertwining, or interlocking serpents upon a central staff…(a Caduceus?) But far more likely though, is that this formation symbolically represents a global serpent that coils its male and female energy streams around the globe. Running right across southern Britain, from the far west of Cornwall to the far east of Norfolk is a sacred energy stream that’s known as the St. Michael & St. Mary line. It links Glastonbury Tor with the Avebury Circle etc, and is all part of that global energy stream that snakes itself around the earth. Amazingly, the formation managed to place itself upon the Mary energy, that just so happens to run right through this particular field at Firs Farm! As it extends globally it links into various earthly chakra or pulsar points, positioned around the world. The middle circle coloured green in the sketch for example, represents the 4 th chakra (the heart chakra) that’s to be found at Glastonbury. Although science will probably deny they exist, the idea that the earth has “chakric” points and subtle energy lines networking across it, is something that’s been long accepted by dowsers and psychics. The ancients knew how to locate and make use of these energies, often marking where these lines crossed or met, by erecting “sarsen” temples or burial chambers upon them. As with our own bodily form, in order to nourish and maintain a healthy existence, these subtle lines need to be kept clear of negative impurities. Crop circles are commonly found on these energy lines. Their positiveness is said to re-charge, re-activate and help clear away any negative energies that are likely to block the system. Discovered on the 19 th of June and lying tangentially to one of these lines, Kent’s first of the season certainly raised a few eyebrows – it had arrived in daylight! Whilst no one had actually seen it form, many that day came to the conclusion that the formation must have appeared within a time frame of less than one hour…somewhere roughly between 2 & 3 pm, according to those who visited the Bluebell Hill Picnic Area. Daytime arrivals are not uncommon in this neck of the woods. At least four or five other formations in Kent over the years have been verified as arriving by day. Clearly not circular but oblate, this was the first time Kent had been on the receiving end of a tri-armed “spinner”, which over the years has strongly featured as part and parcel of “The Circlemakers” repertoire. The lay was quite interesting…In some areas many single or small bunches of stalks were left standing absolutely unaffected by whatever had laid down their neighbours. This rather surprising occurrence certainly wasn’t an example of plants trying to recover. These particular stems had been deliberately missed out. It’s as if “The Circlemakers” were saying , “Now if this was flattened by boards, how come so many plants set within small distances away from each other were left standing?”
Crop Circles have always been attention seekers…something that they clearly demonstrated this year by actually placing a couple of formations that spread acrossroads! We also had a “space invader” character appear in a field that was straight out of the ‘70’s arcade game “Space Invaders”. By no means amateurish, was it a hoax or a joke…or was it something more profound? – After all a crop circle is an invader of space! East Field at Alton Priors in Wiltshire on the 3 rd of July was on the receiving end of a magnificent set of overlapping squares that formed an eight-pointed star. It’s quite possible that the central square is bringing our attention to the number eleven…the number of enlightenment. For instance you can easily interpret the “bars” in the formation as sequences of elevens. And it sort-of begs the question, is there a 11:11 message here?
Many were surprised and upset by this next formation that arrived on the 10 th of July near Winchester. For here was a spiked ball…a gladiatorial weapon, or the head of a mace, something that seemed quite out of character from what we’ve come to expect from “The Circlemakers”. Were they now laying down graphic illustrations of a threatening nature? After all a mace is a symbol of absolute authority and being peppered by surrounding “grapeshot” doesn’t exactly help its case! But as with many of its predecessors it’s open to interpretation in a number of other ways. Long before it was used as a mediaeval weapon, a spiked ball was employed by early crofters as a threshing implement. Known as a flail, it was used to beat or thresh stalks of ripened grain in order to separate them from the straw. Are “The Circlemakers” on this occasion implying that quite soon, the wheat is about to be separated from the chaff?
