I would like to share with you some events from the last couple of weeks that show just how Spirits do guide us, sometimes in the most peculiar way! I warn you now this may take a little time so make yourself comfy and I will try and make this story as easily digestible as I can.

It all started a couple of weeks ago when a newly found friend visited my house. After having a good old natter downstairs I invited her up into our 'Healing Room'. Upon entering the room she picked up on a very strong feeling of a Wolf (which was not surprising to me as she was standing right beside my partners chair who has a Wolf as one of his animal guides).

My friend then became very aware of our 'Protector Guide ' on the door and after shutting the door behind us she started to have a bit of a chat with him, as you do! Myself and my other half have been aware of this enormous American Indian chap for quite some time, but have never really communicated with him, it was always enough just to know he was there watching over us when we used the room for healing or meditation etc.

I should also mention at this stage, just so that it makes a bit more sense later on in the story, that there is also a big Bear (in spiritual form, of course) that stands at the door for protection also. Anyone who is not quite so far along their spiritual pathway, as some of us are, will now be thinking that this story is completely nutty!! I promise you that this will all make perfect sense to you one day in the not too distant future!

Well, my friend told me that this Guide wanted to be acknowledged by me and she asked me if I knew the Guide's name. I didn't. She then linked with this Guide and after a couple of minutes wrote something down on a piece of paper and told me not to look at it until I had asked what his name was. She also warned me that it wouldn't feel right to start with and it might be some time before it fell in to place.

So, that night in our development circle, whilst on meditation, I asked this Guide what his name was. Three names came up:- Silver Wings, Silver Eagle and Silver Bird. Well, Silver Bird was the one I settled on as it kept coming back again and again. So after the meditation I hurriedly looked at the piece of paper, expecting to see Silver Bird (or at least something Silver) only to find it didn't say any of these but something completely different! It said Winniepeg, (which I thought was spelt wrong) and, underneath it was written Canda (which I presume is supposed to say Canada). "Oh Well" I thought to myself, she did say it wouldn't seem right to start with!!

Well, the next few days passed with me trying to make some sense out of this Winniepeg and nothing much was happening. Then one afternoon my other half and I went shopping and stopped in at a New Age shop. I was drawn to the stand with the totem animal necklaces on, having found out for sure during the week that I had a Bear and a Raccoon (as we each have two totem animals, one on our left side and one on our right). The necklace of the Bear that was hanging on the stand didn't particularly appeal to me, so I went over to the cabinet where they have all the Native American Indian jewellery. Nothing really grabbed my fancy here either (not that was affordable, anyway) and so I was just about to leave when I happened to glance down and see a silver necklace with lots of little turquoise Bears strung around it, and, at the bottom in big black letters were the words "Silver Bird". Well, you could have knocked me down with the proverbial feather! I looked at all the other pieces thinking this must be the name of the company that makes this jewellery, but there was nothing like it on any of the others. This for me was affirmation enough that The Bear and Silver Bird were definitely protecting our Healing Room together.

After this my partner and I went for a bite to eat and whilst sitting there discussing the necklace issue, I happened to mention this Winniepeg thing again. Well, he instantly stopped eating at the mention of Winniepeg and looked over at me and said very simply:- "Winnie, Peg". Well, there goes that proverbial feather again, as the penny suddenly dropped. Winnie and Peg are his two grandmothers and obviously my friend had got that link with them whilst standing by my partners' chair in our room the previous week. So, although it turned out not to be the name of the guide it most certainly had a very strong link with us.

This is not the end of the story because from here I then got the fever to go and find out more about this Silver Bird. However, I was completely at a loss as to where to start looking for 'him' and so whilst energising my crystals in my Healing Room one sunny morning I asked for a little guidance, something that would point me in the right direction. Well, almost instantly the name 'Sioux' flashed through my mind, so off I trolled to the library to see if I could find anything about Sioux tribes and this Silver Bird.

Eventually, after quizzing the Librarian, I found four books in a corner on North and Native American Indians. Excitedly thumbing through the index of the first book I found…..nothing . The second book, the same and the third book, also a big fat juicy nothing. Then I picked up the fourth and final book, which looked, to say the least, a little unusual. It was bound in thick brown leather that looked like it had the patterns carved out of it and it had just a plain circular picture of an Indian on horseback stuck on the front. I looked inside the front cover to see that the title of this book was 'The Great Chiefs'. It had to be this one if it were going to be any book at all, so without further ado I flicked through the index in anticipation. To my utter disappointment, there was nothing 'Silver' and nothing to do with birds either. I couldn't believe it, I was so sure this was the book.

Now, I have no idea why I then started to flick through the pages, but as I did they fell open on a particular page and as I looked down I saw the words White Bird (okay, so it wasn't Silver, but it was close!) I began to read a little of the story and as I did so my eyes were drawn again, this time to the page opposite and off the page jumped the words 'Sioux in Canada'. Bearing in mind earlier that day I had been given the word Sioux, and, on the piece of paper my friend had left was the word Canada, I was beginning to wonder if I should borrow the book to see if I could gain some more information, but still not quite convinced that White Bird could be Silver Bird, I decided not to bother and left the library to head home.

On route home I decided to drop in and see my partners Mum, for no reason (or so I thought) other than to say 'Hello'. Well, I'm sure now you're beginning to see a pattern developing of just how my last few days had been 'guided', and with me being completely oblivious to it I started to tell her about the events of the last few days. I basically recounted everything that I have to you in this story (about Winniepeg and The Bear and Silver Bird etc.) and had just begun to explain about my visit to the library and about the book I had found. I was getting quite frustrated as I couldn't remember half of the information I had read and as I was explaining she stopped in her tracks and said "We've got a book on Indians, you never know you might find something in there". So, off we trotted to find the book.

I'm sure that most of you know exactly what's coming next! Yes, you're completely correct, it's that proverbial feather moment again! Out came the exact same book that I had been reading in the library only half an hour before (the one I had decided not to bring home with me). In my total astonishment (and final realisation that nothing in this life is ever coincidental) we continued our discussion. After a couple of minutes my future 'Mum-in-law' (who's name I should mention is Sue) came out with another gem, she said, "Now you have Winnie, Peg and Sue" (Winniepeg and Sioux)! This of course made me wonder if my guide had been trying to tell me 'Sue' was the place to find the book?

Either way it is now in my possession so I can read up when I get the chance! Well, this is where the story rests for the time being because I still have to find out whether this White Bird is my Silver Bird or if they were perhaps related. If there's anyone out there that can enlighten me further I'd love to hear from you! In the meantime I'll leave you to ponder this story on how 'Spirits Guide' and leave you with the fact that "Nothing in this life is ever coincidental"!

If you have any similar stories or 'coincidences' we would love to hear from you. Either drop us a line at P.O.Box 332, Rochester, ME3 9NB or send an e.mail to Mystic@mystic-mouse.co.uk.

Take care all,
